Great news for Tribeca, and another reason why the West side of Tribeca will increase in desirability and value: Construction at Pier 25 wrapped up right on time for Thursday’s grand opening of what becomes the newest piece of the five-mile-long Hudson River Park, the largest open space to be built in Manhattan since Central Park.
The new pier, which is located in TriBeCa, will opened to the public at 3 pm. It includes an 18-hole miniature golf course, snack bar, beach volley courts, moorings for small boats, a children’s playground and lounge-chair seating. At 900 feet, Pier 25 is nearly as long as five city blocks and is the longest pier in the park.
Ten years ago, who would have ever associated gritty, industrial Tribeca with park land?
