NEW YORK’S AIR CLEANEST IN 50 YEARS

Posted by Leonard Steinberg on September 27th, 2013 Mayor Bloomberg’s concerted efforts to make New York a healthier environment for all has paid off: New York’s air is cleaner now than in 50 years, and ranks 4th for clean air in a large City in the USA. Much of this is credited to the termination of the use of oil to heat buildings, but surely all those trees, hybrid and electric vehicles and bicycles are helping? And all this from a Republican Mayor? Other conservatives who have ridiculed Mayor Bloombergs seemingly liberal efforts to clean up the environment, ban smoking, plant trees, enforce healthier eating habits should observe the ultimate (very Conservative/Republican)result: fewer people going to emergency rooms and dying from environmental-related health conditions, thus reducing the cost to the City. Definitely a tale of ONE CITY. And great for real estate. Now lets get together to outlaw those nasty smokers who pollute the sidewalks of Manhattan!
