With this week marking the 5th anniversary of the collapse of Lehman and the peak of the Global Financial Meltdown, I learned a few NEW YORK CITY FACTOIDS today that I thought were rather exceptional:
- Since the depths of the Great Recession, the USA has recouped 65% of lost jobs: New York has recouped 200% of lost jobs!
- More jobs were created in the Boroughs than in Manhattan.
- New York has diversified its economy significantly positioning itself as a leader in the TECHNOLOGY/INFORMATION-based economy, the brand new economic structure rapidly replacing the industrial/manufacturing economy that started around 1840.
- And all of this is happening in the highest taxed city in the USA…..
