Did you notice during the snowstorm how poorly the streets in Manhattan had been plowed? Mayor de Blasio proudly exclaimed in a press conference that Queens and Brooklyn and the outer boroughs were the focus of City snow plows: is the TALE OF TWO CITIES that he so vehemently campaigned against now being repeated with a shifted focus on catering to his ultra-liberal electorate in the outer boroughs?

Put simply: I think this is stupid politics at its very worst!

Mayor de Blasio needs to meet up with his budget office (if he has not done so already)to check in to see who is paying the bills for New York. Surely the place where most driving takes place should get at least the same attention from snow plowers? Surely the place filled with tens of thousands of tourists (and shoppers) should not be de-prioritized? Tourism produces over $35 billion in income for this City.

While Mayor de Blasio may have a case to say that more people live in the boroughs, his argument falls flat when evaluated within his TALE OF TWO CITIES protests. If the Bloomberg ‘tale of two cities was such a bad thing, why is it ok now with the players shifting sides? Fair is fair, and this is a major mis-step that we should all be outraged by.
